Green with Factory Fifteen.

Triangle of Cost-Quality-Time.

“We came to the cousins to help produce our green screen shoot, as they’ve proven on many previous occasions that they get the cost-quality-time triangle better than most; helping us save in less important areas, to excel in those killer moments that really make a film stand out.”

Paul Nicholls
Creative Director & Co-Founder, Factory Fifteen

Trust and the things which matter.

We love the challenge of creating the right level of quality for our clients within a given budget, the question is what really matters the most on a given production? This could be anything from the casting to the location.

The truth is, it’s alway’s a mix, we ascertain asap the most important factors from a budget POV, where can’t we compromise? where can we save?

Our clients return to us as they know we will always put end results first, they trust us to manage their budget with the desired outcomes. By determining priorities early, we can move forward with clear objectives, your objectives.

This helps us “excel in those killer moments that really make a film stand out.” as mentioned by Paul Nicholls from BAFTA Award Winning agency Factory Fifteen, one of favourite directors to work with. We collaborate with our clients (that might be you) in a clear and open way, we become your perfect cousin.

It’s easy to make great content with unlimited budgets, the real art is producing excellent results within budget and most importantly on time.

Green Screens, what makes them work?

Green screen success hangs on the effectiveness of lighting, this involves a deep understanding of how light works.

On a project like this we only have a rough guide to the final outcome, we need to extrapolate from rough visuals the nature of the light in the final composite. This means determining the direction of the light, it’s colour, movement, and shadow depth/colour, is light reflected or direct etc to highlight (pun intended) just a few factors.

Have a look at the before/after example above, a blue gelled reflective surface was rigged to a moving light, as the light moves with the subject the light the mounted reflector moves and vibrates emulating light reflecting on water.

By keeping the light moving we maintain a clean green around the talent decreasing the need for additional post-production. (or roto-scoping)

When lit with sensitivity and awareness of a future yet to be built environment the end result is seamless and convincing.
