Value: You want value! Who doesn’t?  A modest investment to create an on-brand image library can deliver effectively for years. The example here is Polypipe and their marvellous underfloor heating.

Brief + Uses: Convey the warmth and comfort created from the product with uplifting yet authentic lifestyle imagery to appear on the Website, Online, Social, Print Advertising, Large display (trade shows) Editorial, Press and  PR. In other words, almost anything & anywhere. 

Challenge: It’s the middle of winter.

Response: When presented with an open brief like this, we compose for versatility, creating copy space and flexibility wherever possible.

Planning: In order to yield the maximum number of usable images, careful preparation is essential to make super smart use of time. Preparation is key, scheduling the running order down to the minute for each shooting/filming day. This might appear restrictive, but the scheduling is actually liberating on shoot days.

Shoot: Light plays a huge role in these images, all of which were created in the middle of an English Winter. Careful lighting brings life, depth and warmth to short dark days, yet retains a crucial authenticity e.g. ‘They don’t look lit’. 

Thanks to careful prep and an awesome team we had shoot days that were full, fun and productive.

Yield: The agency requested as many ‘usable’ images as possible for each scene, we delivered high quality files un-retouched. This enabled specific retouching as required, all of the images you see here have had minimal retouching as we generally get it 99% right in camera.  This approach enabled the agency to have hundreds of possibilities for future content development. 

Result: These unique, exclusive & bespoke photos have been put to good use by Polypipe on the web, huge trade show displays, full page Ads & catalogues. Polypipe continues to realise value from the images in a variety of ways, some years after they were created. Here’s a few examples below.
